Inspired by the DNA of the HMW and Templates circuits, the new NE2 dual-channel amp builds on the foundation of those topologies but offers an updated sound and expanded functionality with footswitchable control over your clean and distortion channels and FX loop circuit.

DESIGN NOTES

The DISTORTION channel retains the raw yet articulate HMW sound that can do anything from fast, technical metal to slow, pulverizing sludge.  This is taken one step farther with the NE2 after a decade of personal study + user feedback on the HMW. The gain voicing still sounds very raw but has a little more focus and drive due to a new power supply design which is a tad more responsive. There is still plenty of low end on tap to accommodate modern downtuned guitars, and the dual functionality to either crank the amp for super aggressive high gain tones or dial it back and pair it with boosts, fuzzes, or overdrives remains. 

The CLEAN channel is Templates inspired but adds an additional gain stage for further reach into distortion territory. The EQ is a modified James tonestack with a Mid control added to the Treble/Bass circuit. The advantage of the James configuration is the controls act with a greater degree of independence meaning that adjusting one knob acts more like a dedicated cut/boost of that frequency rather than all EQ knobs interacting with each other when one is adjusted. The EQ can range from very bright with lots of presence and articulation to thick and woofy with a slower attack.

If the tone controls aren't enough to get where you're trying to go, each channel has a dedicated EQ SHIFT switch to allow further tailoring of the sound. The middle setting is the stock sound of the amp. EQ shift up brings more presence and in general a faster response to pick attack. EQ shift down brings in more sub-bass frequencies and makes the sound more full and rounded.

• Due to this being a new product the only pictures of it available now are with a black headcase
• The all black amp with black grill will also have a black chassis. Not a black faceplate. The chassis is what the transformers, tube sockets, faceplates, etc mount to.
